Josh Shockley

Josh was born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. At a young age he started drawing and creating his own comics alongside his younger brother Mat. Their parents realized early on that the pair had a passion for drawing and pushed for them to further their skills. The two actively perused art in high school under the guidance of Tom Hogan, and after graduation both enrolled in the Art Department at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, Maryland. Under the structured classes of Illustration and Sequential Art (comic book art) taught by fellow Independent Comic Artist Brad Hudson, the boys were exposed to the various finer points of constructing comic books.

In Fall of 2006 Josh was one of the contributing artists to PLB Comics' first self published book- PLB COMICS PRESENTS #1. The book was comprised of 5 short ongoing stories and Josh wrote, drew and inked the Danger Squad segment, as well as wrote and inked the Portal 317 segment.

Currently, PLB Co-founder Josh Shockley is busier than ever, serving as writer and a contributing artist on PLB's two ongoing titles The Fall: Vengeance & Justice and Gideon & Sebastian: Predators & Prey as well as the yearly PLB Halloween Special. Other completed works have included a 4 page short story of Nathan Thomas Milliner's "The Malevolent" series, as well as book illustrations for local folk lore author Andy Nunez's "Ghosts of the Eastern Shore" series, as well as a various and wide range of commission works.
